As the HR Deputy Director at the Arizona Department of Administration, Laura is responsible for oversight of the HR satellite offices in the six largest state agencies consisting of approximately 30,000 State employees, the Tucson HR office, and the Central Work-Life Unit. She has over 20 years of HR experience in state government - 15 of those years at the Arizona Department of Corrections - in which she has been involved in nearly all facets of human resources including employee relations, equal opportunity, legal compliance, line and management recruitment and selection, staffing, testing and evaluation, employee benefits, staff training, awards and recognition, retirement, and employee drug testing.
Laura has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Ottawa University and is SPHR and IPMA-HR certified. She is an active volunteer in the HR community as the Co-Chair of the Arizona Society for
Human Resource Management's (SHRM) Annual State Conference, Chair of the City of Scottsdale Personnel Board, and a member of various HR organizations. In 2007, she was awarded "Volunteer of the Year" by Arizona SHRM.
