What AzGU provides employees in State Government
  • A web enabled learning management system that allows (for the first time) centralized online access to individual employee training records.
  • A complete registration, tracking, measurements, facility management, vendor management system, resource management system and ongoing measurement capability to assure alignment and goal attainment of training activities.
  • Alignment with Arizona public universities and community colleges across the state and other strategic higher education entities to allow access and options for both credit and non credit courses.
  • Alignment with Veteran Services to provide an outreach educational center for veterans in state government to best maximize their use of their veteran educational benefits including development of OJT, Apprenticeship programs as well as certification and degree completion counseling.
  • Leveraging the resources of all state agencies in order to increase efficiency, effectiveness and access to necessary training for state employees while reducing the overall cost of training. Examples:
    • Leverage statewide usage for e-learning savings
    • Leverage same topic training for all agencies access to avoid redundancy and optimize just in time training
    • Leverage statewide usage for vendor management tracking and savings
    • Standardized curriculum to assure consistency and quality statewide
  • An ROI study that will provide a benchmark for ongoing review and analysis to assure both effectiveness and efficiencies as the state moves to a more strategic central repository model which is less redundant for training and development.
  • Continuing commitment by State agencies to partner in this new learning model for public personnel. (*This commitment was demonstrated by shifts in funding and personnel that made AzGU happen.)
  • Additional Services:
    • *Revenue generating educational and training programs for political subdivisions and strategic public/business markets that will offset the costs of training of state employees to help make learning at AzGU, a self funded program.
    • *Testing resource site(s) that provide accurate tracking as well as automatic notification for certification renewal for participating certification boards and associations both for state employees requiring certification as well as being a resource for the public to become “State” certified/licensed.
    • *Vendor management tracking to help leverage consistent costs and overall training and development related contracts
